Iraq ready for grid co-operation with Jordan

27 October 2004 - Iraqi Minister of Electricity Ayham Al-Samara'y said during a visit to Jordan on Tuesday that his government is ready to cooperate with Jordan in an electric grid project.

The Minister said that the most important project which will be carried out with Jordan is the electric grid project between Iraq and Jordan. He said that the Jordanian government is ready to cooperate with Iraq in all fields, pointing out that Jordan pledged to end the part of the project from its side during next year, while Iraq will carry out its part during the same period expecting that the project
will be completed by the year 2004.

Al-Samara'y revealed that a Jordanian economic delegation will visit Iraq to look into the current situation there and the possibility of participating in the rebuilding of Iraq.
