Power Engineering - Thomas R. Black to become president of BluePoint Energy Development

GRANITE BAY, Calif., Oct. 23, 2003 -- Chapeau Inc. (dba Blue Point Technology) announced the hiring of Thomas R. Black as president of BluePoint Energy Development, the company's new own-and-operate separate business unit formed as a consequence of the recently announced $35 Million Calim-BPEP I Partnership.

Black joins BluePoint from DTE Energy Technologies, a provider of distributed generation solutions, products and services. DTE Energy Technologies is an operating unit of DTE Energy Distribution, one of three major business units of DTE Energy, a diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide.

Black has served as Vice President, North America Sales since joining DTE Energy Technologies in 2001 and is currently responsible for leading its 45-person direct sales force. Black joined DTE Energy Technologies in that company's acquisition of Alliance Energy Companies Ltd., a distributor of standby and distributed power generation products and services that Black co-founded and served as President and Chief Executive Officer. Black will officially join BluePoint prior to the end of October 2003.
