Robert Braun joins Loring as a vice president and CFO

NEW YORK, N.Y., Oct. 17, 2003 -- Joseph R. Loring & Associates, Inc., has announced that Robert J. Braun, P.E., joined the firm as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Braun will also serve as president and chief financial officer of Loring Project Services, Inc. (LPSI), a new subsidiary providing construction management and program/project management exclusively for the mechanical, electrical plumbing requirements of energy and utility projects.

Braun is a 25-year industry veteran with senior-level business management and project development experience in industrial power infrastructure projects. He previously owned and directed Braun Engineering Associates, P.C., which has since merged with KeySpan. Braun Engineering Associates, a mechanical and electrical engineering firm, provided engineering, design and construction services for numerous complex power and energy system projects.

"LPSI was created to meet the sophisticated design and construction demands of today's energy projects, particularly those in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states," says Ronald W. Mineo, president of Joseph R. Loring & Associates, Inc.. "The company will expand upon many of the non-design services we already provide our clients and will be backed by LORING's outstanding engineering expertise. We are delighted that Bob Braun, with his strong business and technical skills, will be leading LPSI."

The company will provide a full spectrum of engineering, design and project management services for complex design/bid and design/build energy and utility system projects. By focusing on the diversification of LORING's core competencies, LPSI will offer a much-expanded line of professional project management and program services including project initiation, feasibility studies, design, construction bidding, purchasing management, contractual strategies, project scheduling and control, and construction management.

Since 1956, LORING has provided MEP, fire protection and telecommunications engineering services for many of the nation's most notable public and private building projects--including high-rise office towers, corporate headquarters, government buildings, courthouses, R&D facilities, airport terminals, hospitals, universities, libraries, and energy and utility facilities.

LORING is based in New York City, with offices in Washington, D.C., Princeton, NJ, and Albany, NY.
