CERA names leading research executive to CEO post

9 October 2003 - Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) today named former Forrester Research senior executive Emily Nagle Green its new Chief Executive Officer. Green served as Managing Director of both Forrester Research Europe and Forrester Research North America. In both positions she led the business units.

"Emily's demonstrated leadership and deep experience in managing a dynamic research enterprise and creating new solutions will prove very valuable as CERA enters a new period of growth worldwide," said CERA Chairman Daniel Yergin. "Her expertise in technology and strategy will be particularly beneficial as CERA works to help the energy industry to understand and anticipate the changes and challenges that lie ahead."

"This opportunity to join one of the premier global research and consulting firms with its extremely talented staff, its commitment to intellectual leadership and its record of achievement is made even more compelling by the large steps forward that CERA and its clients can take during the coming years," said Green. "I look forward to working with both staff and clients to enhance existing services and to develop new services and solutions that will meet the needs of energy companies and financial institutions in the years ahead."

CERA's founders all remain active in the company, Yergin as Chairman with overall strategic and editorial responsibility, Joseph A. Stanislaw as President working with key clients and business leaders internationally, and Jamey Rosenfield as Vice Chairman. Green will have P&L responsibility and will report to the CERA Board.

Green ran Forrester Research North America for the last two years. During 1998-2001, she launched and developed Forrester's European operations, overseeing several related acquisitions. Her previous management experience includes positions at Point of View Inc., a video services start-up; ADC Fibermux, a broadband network manufacturer; and Digital Productions, a special-effects firm. She also formed and led software company NewLine7.

Green received an M.S.E. in computer graphics and artificial intelligence from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S.LL. cum laude in theoretical linguistics from Georgetown University. She serves on the boards of directors of Molecular, Inc. and the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council.
