Barlow Projects to assume operation of waste-to-energy facility in Tulsa

Oct. 3, 2003 -- Barlow Projects announced Wednesday that it will assume the operation of the Tulsa, Oklahoma waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in October replacing the present operator Covanta-Tulsa.

Barlow Projects, Inc. of Fort Collins, Colorado has been selected as the new operator by a subsidiary of CIT Group Inc. the owner of the 1125 TPD Tulsa WTE facility. Barlow is mobilizing its management team to the site to begin the transfer of operations.

Several Barlow Projects employees, including Jack Akins, Sr. Vice President of Corporate Operations, participated in the construction and start-up of the Tulsa facility. Barlow's top priority at this time is to meet with the plant customers, the City of Tulsa and Sun Refinery, to create a good working relationship and ensure a smooth transition.

Barlow hopes to retain all of the current employees of the facility during the transition. "We want to ensure the employees of the facility and its customers that it is our intention to restore plant operations as soon as possible," stated Jim Barlow, CEO of Barlow Projects.

Barlow Projects provides design, construction and operation of waste-to-energy facilities throughout the U.S. Barlow's projects typically employ its patented Aireal(tm) Combustion System as well as their proprietary boiler design and air pollution control system under license from Procedair Industries. Additional information on the company is available at www.barlowprojects.com.
