Mitsubishi Heavy targets $27 million in sales for solar power equipment

3 October 2003 - Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries expects to double its sales of solar power generation equipment over two years. It predicts an expansion in sales from Germany to the whole of Europe, including Switzerland, Italy and France.

Mitsubishi Heavy is targeting sales of about 3 billion yen ($27m) for its solar power generation equipment in fiscal 2004. This sales figure represents a 50 per cent jump from fiscal 2002.

In Japan, it will expand sales by making use of its own air conditioner sales network and by joining forces with homebuilders and construction material manufacturers in developing new products.
