Alstom wins EVN service contract at Phu My

24 September 2003 - Alstom has signed an eight-year long-term service agreement with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's National Utility, Electricity Vietnam (EVN). The umbrella contract covers the supply of spare parts, reconditioning of hot gas path components and related outage and maintenance services for the GT13E2-based Phu My 2.1 and Phu My 4 gas-fired combined-cycle power plants.

The two 450 MW plants are located in the Phu My Power complex in the Vung Tau province close to Ho Chi Minh City. Phu My 2.1 was converted into a combined-cycle plant and commissioned earlier this year. The in-service date for Phu My 4, currently under construction, is scheduled for mid-2004.

The long-term service agreement supports EVN in ensuring the most efficient and economic plant operation and maintenance regime. It furthermore reinforces the long-standing relationship and close co-operation that exists between Alstom Power Service and EVN.
