Wallingford, Conn. and Killearn, Scotland, Sept. 12, 2003 -- A U.S. hydrogen generation and fuel cell products manufacturer has teamed with a global manufacturer of nitrogen and zero air on-site generators to offer a wide range of on-site gas generation products to gas users worldwide.
To complement its line of HOGEN® hydrogen generators, Proton Energy Systems, Inc. now offers on-site nitrogen and zero air generators from Scotland-based Products of Technology Ltd. (PTL). Gas users considering cost, safety, reliability and convenience can opt for on-site gas generation products from Proton in preference to delivered gas supplies.
For the laboratory analytical market served by Proton's HOGEN® GC laboratory hydrogen generator, Proton now offers PTL's ZeroAir Systems in several capacity ranges, and PTL's MicroGenN2 nitrogen generator, which produces 99.9995% pure nitrogen gas at up to 200 cc/minute and has the smallest footprint of any nitrogen generator on the market.
Proton's HOGEN GC and PTL's ZeroAir systems offer laboratory professionals and separation scientists a 24/7 supply of gas for gas chromatography (GC) carrier gas (including fast GC), Flame Ionization Detector (FID) fuel and oxidant gases. The units can also be profitably teamed to serve applications in electrochemistry, fuel cell development, and other applications requiring low flow rates of high purity hydrogen and air.
Proton also offers PTL's NitroGen and NitroGen LCMS laboratory nitrogen systems, DryAir and CO2-Free air systems, TOC gas generators and the GA series of larger nitrogen generating systems for industrial applications.
For its part, PTL markets both Proton's industrial and laboratory model hydrogen generators under the HOGEN® and HYDRO-Gen brands.
"The agreement between Proton Energy Systems and Products of Technology will provide more choice to users of high-purity gases around the world," said David E. Wolff, vice president, marketing and communications, Proton Energy Systems. "It increases each company's capacity to sell additional products to customers who understand the advantages of our on-site generation technologies over delivered gas supply methods. The marketing arrangement builds on our respective strengths in the gas generation market while preserving each company's autonomy."
"PTL has established a reputation for excellence in the gas generator market with our award-winning nitrogen and zero air devices," said Graham Sinclair, managing director, PTL. "Building on this success, PTL has successfully offered Proton's hydrogen generators to our clients for several years. As we educate customers about the benefits of this safe, low-cost, low-maintenance technology, the market will continue to grow. Our partnership with Proton is a logical step in offering a spectrum of advanced generation options to analytical and operational professionals who depend on pure, reliable gas supplies."
