Aug. 7, 2003 -- E.On's UK electricity supply and distribution subsidiary, Powergen, has become the latest U.K. company to transfer jobs to India in an attempt to cut costs.
The power company is moving jobs in phases and will have 300 call centre workers in Delhi by the end of the year. Other utilities, including Centrica and Innogy, are also looking at the possibility of moving call centres overseas, though no firm decisions have yet been made.
