Capstone Turbine names John Tucker CEO

CHATSWORTH, Calif., Aug. 6, 2003 -- Capstone Turbine Corp., a microturbine power systems manufacturer, has announced that it has named John Tucker as its new Chief Executive Officer.

"We are delighted to announce that John Tucker has joined us as the President and Chief Executive Officer and as a director of Capstone," said Eliot Protsch, Chairman of the Board of Capstone Turbine Corp. "This was a difficult search because we were looking for a unique combination of skills. We saw a number of well qualified candidates, but John possesses the leadership, experience, market knowledge and business acumen that we were seeking. In addition, he has experience in the microturbine industry. We are very pleased to have Tucker aboard in this role."

Tucker was previously the President and Chief Executive Officer of York International Corporation, the President of AlliedSignal Aerospace's Aerospace Equipment Systems business sector, the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Daimler Benz Aerospace's Motoren & Turbine Union operations and the President of AEG-Westinghouse Transportation Syste

In addition to these executive positions, he has held leadership positions in engineering, program management, sales and marketing, and customer service. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Pennsylvania State University.

"We are grateful for the leadership Emily Liggett provided Capstone during her service as the Interim Chief Executive Officer," Protsch continued. "She provided the stability needed in the company to permit us to take the time in our CEO search." Liggett commented, "I'm pleased that the Board has identified such a strong leader for Capstone. In my time with the company, I've been impressed with the tremendous opportunities that lay ahead for Capstone and I believe Tucker is the right person to take the company forward."
