BEIJING, July 17, 2003 -- Huaneng Power International Inc. announces that the environmental-friendly coal-fired generation unit (unit 5) of Jining Power Plant expansion project (using Cycled Fluidized Bed Combustion Boiler) with capacity of 135MW has completed its 168 hours full-load trial run at 10:00 a.m. on July 11, 2003 and is put into commercial operation.
Previously, the generation unit has completed the 72 hours full-load trial run assessment on July 7, 2003. Now that the total generation capacity of Jining Power Plant has reached 435MW, the company's total generation capacity on an equity basis has increased to 14,915MW.
Huaneng Power International, Inc. develops, constructs, operates and manages large thermal power plants in China nationwide, with a total generation capacity of 14,915MW on an equity basis. The company wholly owns thirteen power plants, and has controlling interests in three power plants and minority interests in three power companies. Today, it is one of the largest independent power producers in China.
