BALTIMORE, Sept. 25, 2002 -- Constellation Energy Group has received two national awards from the Environmental Protection Agency's Waste Wise program.
Constellation Energy has been named Program Champion for its work to minimize waste and Partner of the Year for efforts related to climate change. Constellation was among 53 companies and organizations honored out of a pool of more than 1100.
Awards will be presented during the Waste Wise annual meeting and awards ceremony on October 10, 2002 in Washington, D.C.
Constellation Energy Group has always been in the forefront of efforts to protect the environment. Constellation Energy has initiated awareness campaigns to educate employees about the relationship between climate change and waste prevention and recycling as well as launched efforts to educate employees about greenhouse gas emission reduction.
These programs are directly responsible for preventing nearly 2,500 tons of waste from entering landfills and the recycling of 31,500 tons of materials.
