CHATSWORTH, Calif., July 5, 2002 -- Capstone Turbine Corp., a microturbine power systems manufacturer, announced on Wednesday the resignation of Chief Operating Officer Norman Chambers in conjunction with a decision by its Board of Directors to undertake an internal realignment.
Commenting on the actions taken, Dr. Ake Almgren, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Capstone Turbine Corporation, said, "The Board of Directors has determined that the time was right to undertake an internal realignment. We will now be organized into five functional areas: sales and marketing, quality and customer service, engineering, operations and administration.
"This new streamlined structure combines our sales and marketing operations, brings all of our engineering efforts together and highlights quality and customer service as a key functional area. We expect this will create a more effective organization. With the new structure and the experience and talents of the leaders in charge of each area, the role of Chief Operating Officer is no longer warranted. We wish Norm all the best in his new endeavors."
