Black Hills Corp. adds vice president of risk management


RAPID CITY, S.D., June 4, 2002 -- Black Hills Corp. recently announced the appointment of Russell L. Cohen to the newly created position of Vice President-Risk Management of Black Hills Corporation.

Before joining Black Hills Corp., Cohen was Vice President, Finance at C-Cor.net, where he remained after serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Worldbridge Broadband Services, Inc. prior to its merger with the NASDAQ-traded, Pennsylvania-based cable services and manufacturing company.

In addition, Cohen has over 15 years of risk management experience from trading, managing, and supervising various fixed income option desks with major Wall Street firms.

Daniel P. Landguth, chairman and chief executive officer of Black Hills Corporation, said, "As we proceed with our energy growth agenda, safeguarding and enhancing the value of our assets are of extreme importance to us. We established this new position to advance that aim. Cohen will be located at our Denver office complex, where much of our Integrated Energy business unit resides." Landguth concluded, "His appointment reflects our ambition of fostering continued growth and our commitment to shareholder interests."
