Dynegy, Reliant receive subpoenas from U.S. Attorney's office

HOUSTON, Texas, May 28, 2002 -- Dynegy Inc. and Reliant Resources said that they received subpoenas late Friday from the U.S. Attorney's Office requesting documents relating to the companies' transactions in energy markets.

Dynegy said its subpoena was related to its buy and sell trades with CMS Energy and its long-term natural gas supply transaction referred to as "Project Alpha."

The documents requested by the U.S. Attorney's Office are similar to those that the companies have already provided or are in the process of providing to the SEC, FERC and other governmental agencies.

Both companies said they would cooperate fully with the U.S. Attorney's Office.
