EDMONTON, May 22,2002 -- AmerenUE selects Matrikon as its preferred plant automation and optimization partner with the ultimate goal of increasing availability and efficiency while minimizing production and maintenance costs.
Matrikon Inc. recently announced a strategic alliance with AmerenUE, Missouri's largest electric utility company, to provide a variety of services at four power plants in Missouri.
Under the alliance, AmerenUE has named Matrikon as the preferred supplier for historian administration and maintenance services, custom software development, research and evaluation of new technology, training and support services. The alliance also includes corporate licenses for Matrikon's proprietary software, ProcessNet, ProcessGuard, and ProcessDoctor.
The alliance will provide AmerenUE with standardized plant automation systems, enabling greater efficiency and the ability to replicate results from the top performing plants. By standardizing, AmerenUE will benefit from significantly reduced costs for deploying new systems and maintaining existing systems.
"Ameren has enjoyed a successful relationship with Matrikon for the past two and a half years," stated Charles D. Naslund, Vice President, Power Operations at AmerenUE. "We are confident that Matrikon is the right choice for providing us with one-stop solutions and standardized technology across our power plants, based on the best-practices achieved at our benchmark facility."
Matrikon's General Manager Floyd Bjorgan stated: "This is a very strategic relationship for Matrikon. We've proven that Matrikon's technology meets the needs of the power industry at Ameren's benchmark plant and we've demonstrated that Matrikon is well-positioned to enable the power industry to remain agile and efficient in the highly competitive deregulated environment."
In addition to the preferred service provider agreement, AmerenUE will receive one seat on Matrikon's product advisory committee, which provides input and direction to Matrikon's product development team.
