Gexa Energy reports second consecutive month of favorable operating results

HOUSTON, Texas, March 8, 2002 -- Gexa Energy Corp. a Texas retail electric provider, reported it was pleased with the results of its second month of operations since deregulation began in Texas.

Gexa Energy said it continues to successfully transition new customers onto its electric service for the second month in a row. In addition, Gexa Energy has billed and recorded revenue in excess of proforma for February.

Gexa Energy again reports that it has exceeded its second month's projections in all sales categories, electricity consumption and operations. Based on early estimates, March results also appear to be exceeding initial forecasts.

The service and product offering Gexa Energy provides consistently attracts a broad base of residential and small- to mid-market commercial customers. Gexa Energy also offers one of the most attractive sales programs for its company and independent representatives.

About Gexa Energy: Gexa Energy was formed to prepare for electric competition, which began on a statewide basis in Texas on Jan. 1, 2002. The company offers consumers in restructured retail energy markets competitive energy prices, pricing choices, improved customer friendly service and innovative products, services and specials.

On Feb 4, 2002, Gexa Energy announced an alliance with Aquila Inc., whereby Aquila shall provide financial credit to Gexa Energy to allow it greater buying power to more efficiently purchase electricity in the marketplace.
