BHEL wins $44m order from Oman for 126 MW gas fired plant

30 October 2009 - Indian engineering services firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured an export order for a gas turbine generating unit of 126 MW from Oman.

Valued at INR2.05bn ($44m), the order envisages supply and supervision of erection and commissioning of a 126MW gas turbine generating unit for a power project being set up by Petroleum Development Oman at Qarn Alam, nearly 400km from Muscat.

BHEL has said that the gas turbines and associated equipment will be manufactured and supplied by BHEL's Hyderabad plant and the control system will be manufactured and supplied by its Electronics Division, Bangalore.
